Trevor was born and grew up on Haida Gwaii. He is Gitxsan on his father’s side and Cree on his mother’s side from Treaty 6 Territory.
Although growing up around so much amazing art, Trevor focused on music in his youth, and didn’t come to Northwest Art until a bit later in life. Trevor would begin his journey apprenticing with Cowichan carver Herb Rice, and worked on some community poles and canoes with other artists as well as his own pieces.
Eventually Trevor’s design was refined through self-study, and from mentors like Corey Bulpitt and Ernie Swanson. Trevor’s current work blends his Gitxsan and Haida roots with a contemporary flair.
Trevor carves wood panels, paddles, masks, poles, works with metal, clothing, silkscreening, and other mediums.
